I especially love design research and UX writing.
Would you like to learn more about some of my past projects? Is there anything I can do for you? Please feel free to reach out, it would be great to hear from you.
BIO
I grew up in the woods of Arkansas and earnestly believed in the existence of fairies far past the acceptable age to do so. One of the first things that
I remember wanting to be when I grew up was to be an "artist-writer"—the lucky person who got to decide which names best reflected the personalities of the crayons in my Crayola box.
As a young adult, my continued avid interest in all things stories and pictures lead me to pursue an
undergraduate degree in Radio-Television-Film. After working in community television for a couple of years, I switched course to working in the post-secondary education sector.
While working in higher ed, I routinely generated tasks for myself that were design oriented. This included projects like making marketing materials, redesigning departmental websites, creating new workflow procedures, and taking design software classes in my spare time for fun. Eventually, it finally dawned on me: I am at my happiest when I'm designing.
Aspiring to take my career to the next level,
I undertook graduate level studies in Communication Design at Texas State University. Recently, I completed my MFA thesis research which focused on taking a ludological approach to demystifying climate change.
Whenever I'm not designing, you will probably find me reading, writing, painting, planting yet another tree in the yard, conducting culinary experiments in the kitchen, or walking my dog along Lady Bird Lake. The cat, incidentally, refuses to go for walks.
